Wedgwood Sage Green Jasperware (jasper ware) Ashtray.

Fine-grained, unglazed sage green stoneware with white decorations, in bas-relief applied and in the Neoclassical style, applied to the body of the piece around the rim and in the center.  

The center is adorned with two God and Goddess from Greek mythology looking toward Cherub/Angel.  The rim has a grape and grave leaves design.

Back Mark indicates this piece of Wedgwood was made between 1908 and 1969.

The approximate measurements are: 4 ½" in diameter by 5/8" tall.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, etc.

In 1978, I was in Barlaston, Stafford, Staffordshire, England, and toured the Wedgwood Factory.  I watched the skilled crafts-people creating these beautiful Wedgwood Jasperware pieces and saw how carefully they laid the white decorations on the pottery body.
