In Russia long ago, a white-robed maiden known as Kolyada traveled from house to house bringing treats on Christmas Eve. She arrived by sleigh and was accompanied by young people singing carols.

Like other Christmas Visitors depicted in this series, which celebrates the legend of a different gift-bringer each year, Kolyada personifies the love and spirit of giving that are at the heart of our holiday season.
