"I wanted to get as much movement into this design as possible," says Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artist Ken Crow. "After all, it is Christmas Eve -- and everyone, including the dog, is rushing to the window, trying to see Santa!" As the song plays, Santa pops up and down the chimney, the dog runs back and forth to the window; the father comes in and out the front window with his candle moving from side to side; and the mother is holding a child as she comes to and from a side window.

"I based the design on the famous poem by Clement Clarke Moore," Ken continues. "The story is really timeless. It is hard to realize it was written 175 years ago." The back of the ornament reads, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night! 175 Years, The Night before Christmas, 1822 - 1997."

This design is one of two chosen for the 1997 Artists Studio Collection, which highlights ornaments with rich detailing or special features ... true treasures of the season.
