Offered is a lovely, vintage, geometric floral art deco style brooch created by Pierre Bex. This pin is featured on the Pierre-Bex Website and marked "Sold Out."
This Art Deco brooch features deep rose, gold and black enamel accented with 13 topaz colored rhinestones. The entire brooch is coated with a clear, lacquer enamel giving it a smooth, glossy finish. The silver plated base has a trombone clasp which was primarily used in Europe starting in 1850. This trombone clasp is safe because it has a piece of metal which slides in and out (like a trombone) to secure the pin.
To create his broochs, Pierre Bex's jewelry was handmade from genuine, original casts, moulds and toolings from the art deco period of the last century. The Pierre Bex Jewelry Factory, in France, started re-making these lovely items from 1969 until the end of 1980. The factory is closed, but the high quality of its reproduction give the Pierre Bex items a great value, especially since they were only reproduced for approximately 10-15 years. Since they are no longer manufactured, some designs are not available and others are in short supply.
Unmarked, however, this brooch is a Pierre Bex piece. His jewelry was often not signed. I have found this piece in various colors on the Pierre Bex website attributing this piece to Pierre Bex.
