This lapel / hat / vest pin is features enameled Mayflowers / Trailing Arbutus flowers with Nova Scotia written in gold lettering on gold-tone metal backing. In 1901, the flower was officially adopted when an act of the legislature stated that it "is hereby declared to be and from time immemorial to have been the emblem of Nova Scotia."

The fastener is a butterfly clutch push pin. 

The pin is approximately 3/4" wide by 5/8" tall and is in excellent condition (much better looking than my image).

These souvenir type pins are great for swapping at various conventions.
