John Pleasants designed the Stumpy Creek collection for Craft-Tex in 1990. Along with John’s creative touch and Craft-Tex’s painting ability, they ensured the joy of the “magic” that comes alive in each collection piece.  Each piece is handmade of crushed pecan shell and resin, then hand-painted, signed and dated by a North Carolina Folk Artist.  This one is signed: J.P. ‘80.

This sculpture features a gnome sitting on top of a stump with his leg hanging out of a knothole and with another gnome crawling out of a knothole in the bottom.  He is holding onto a walnut.  These painted wood-spirits bring back that magic that John Pleasants and Craft-Tex envisioned.

The bottom has a chip of the crushed pecan shell resin and can easily be painted over. (I have the chipped pieces and will send if wished.)
