This pin is from the North Carolina Ornament Collectible Show in 1997. The lapel / hat pin features enamel on metal in the shape of a Nutcracker Soldier.  Nutcrackers are a favorite among collectors, even the North Carolina Collectors because they created a lapel / hat pin to resemble Hallmark's wooden nutcrackers / ornaments for their annual collectible show. 

This pin features a figurine wearing a red and white shirt with the number "97" on the breats and blue pants.  He is also wearing a tall hat on which is written:  "NC Orn Coll Show" which stands for "North Carolina Ownament Collectible Show 1996."

The approximate measurements are:  1 1/2" long by 9/16" wide and is held in place with two butterfly clutch pin backs.  The pin is in excellent condition.

Not only does Hallmark have their own collectors club, but branches of local collectors have sprung up all over the world.  Collectors enjoy exchanging their lapel pins at the Hallmark Conventions.
